If you are someone who is constantly fighting a battle to be a couch potato and being fit at the same time, here are some routines you can follow while you are watching for your favourite shows on TV.
Lunges are effective for legs and butt. To do a lunge correctly, bring one leg forward and bend down your body it till you form a 90 degree angle with it. Repeat 20 sets for one leg and then switch to the other. Carry weights on both your ends to make this exercise more effective.
This is a great cardio movement. Run on the spot by lifting your knees towards the hips each time. Run for 20 seconds, take a break of 5 seconds and repeat for 4 sets.
Leg raise is simple to do, doesnt really require much space and its damn effective. Lie on one side, point your toes up and raise your leg upwards and downwards in the same rhythm. Do it on the other leg once you are done with the first one.
In a side plank, you have to take the plank position and lift your hand up while turning sideways. Hold it for 10 seconds and repeat on the other side. It tones up your abs and obliques.
Hip raise is an easy to do exercise to strengthen your core and butt. Lie down on your back with your feet on the ground and knees up and raise yourself up. Keep your core tight and squeeze the buts while you do this. Hold it for 10 seconds, come down for 5 seconds and repeat for 4 sets.
You dont have to leave your couch to do this! Tricep dips tone your arm muscles like nothing else. All you have to do is attain the posture as shown in the image below and move up and down. Its not easy at it seems so do as much as you can if you are naive.
Studies say that on an average we spend almost 9 years of our total lifespan in front of the TV so better make the most of it!
